Trash Can Supper

For 20 adults and 12 children

4-5 doz.ears of corn(take outside husks off); 3-3 1/2 lb. carrets,scrubbed(leave whole);
28 white potatoes,scrubbed; 10 sm. onions;
5 heads cabbage,quartered; celery( suite to taste);
meat: 10 links polish sausage,12 extra fat hot dogs,2 1/2 lb. smoked sausage

Build a fire. A grill over blocks works well. Place vegetables in a (new) trash can in order given. add 2 qts hot water. Cover with lid and put on fire,should be steaming in 30 min. add meat 45 min. to an hour before veg. are done. this whole meal takes 2 to 3 hours,depending on how hot the fire.
